When the mouse doesn 't 'work '

When the mouse doesn 't 'work '

I have a RHEL3U6 machine acting a bit strange.  On Friday
and earlier today, the mouse seems 'disabled': one can
no longer right or left click with the mouse, but all the while
the mouse can be moved all over the screen.  The mouse
remains as an "X", and nothing but moving the mouse is possible.

Is there a 'shortcut list' posted somewhere about keys that
can be used to get around in applications?  We've never tested
whether everything is completely unresponsive.

We are able to remotely telnet (ssh) in without any issue...

Any ideas?

Marco
