Hi,

Something I had wanted for a long time has become reality. Yam now
includes RHN support, which simply means that (given the correct
credentials) you can access and download RHN updates to your Yam server
to distribute them internally on your network.

Most companies do not have direct Internet access from each of their
servers and want to have their updates cached locally. Yam can help with
that as it allows you to have a single server to download all updates and
depending on your setup, allows to chain multiple Yam servers for
mirroring on different networks.

More information on how to set this up is available from:

  http://dag.wieers.com/home-made/yam/
  http://svn.rpmforge.net/svn/trunk/tools/yam/README.rhn

Currently you have to check out the Subversion code, but I plan to release
this as version 0.8 (as it has some more bugfixes and enhancements). I
just need some people to test the RHN support (especially because
currently the code does not have any RHN exception handling, so it bails
out if something goes wrong).

Please test and send your feedback to the RPMforge tools ?mailinglit at:
