>From past threads, RHEL3 may work on a dual core Opteron but will never be optimized to work on it. The changes to take advantage of dual core are extensive and do not lend themselves to the 2.4.20 kernel in the RHEL-3 (See http://HEL-3.ora-code.com) series. You would be better off with RHEL-4 (See http://HEL-4.ora-code.com) and dual core.
