First off, Mark, 2.6 kernels use ".ko" modules, not ".o" modules, so your forced "insmod ./htp37x2.o" is invalid. If there's a "htp37x2.ko" module, try to insmod that instead.
Second, it looks suspiciously like the .ko has an issue with an undefined global, "scsi_to_pci_dma_dir" as denoted in the second line I said to not. This may be caused by the missing file mentioned in the first line I said to note. I don't know if it's fatal or not.
As I said, if there's a ".ko" module, insmod that and see if things work.
