Back Okay, I'm home finally and checked out the server. The console is pretty much dead. I can't get a login prompt up, but I can hit CTRL-ALT-F2 to get a new one. Typing in root and pressing enter and the machine hangs.
I can't CRTL-ALT-DEL to reboot either. I had to hard reset it to clear the jam up.
I'm running a scsi raid disk set as well as 2 200G ide drives in software raid on md0. I chose to let it check the disks on reboot.
Where should I start looking in the logs for this? I was running the -37.0.1 kernel and have gone back to 32.0.1 to see if that is the trouble. I also have the squid proxy server off as I originally thought that was doing it.
The hardware is a Dell Poweredge 600SC. 2.8 GHz with 1G ram. No HT.
Thanks. -- -=/>Thom
