Erroneous SM_UMON from HP-UX to RHEL

Erroneous SM_UMON from HP-UX to RHEL

2006-02-24       - By Magnus Andersen

 Back
Hi All,

I have an NFS mount made on my HP-UX system to one of my RHEL systems.
Everytime (once a day) the HP-UX server tries to write to the nfs share I
receive the following two lines in my messeges log file.  It doesn't seem to
cause any issues.

Feb 24 00:00:11 oraprd rpc.statd[2147]: Received erroneous SM_UNMON request
from oraprd.walkerassoc.com for 192.168.12.4
Feb 24 00:00:11 oraprd kernel: nfsd: request from insecure port
(c0a80c04:53379)!

Any ideas what is wrong?

Environment:
HP-UX Server: A500, 18GB HDD, 6GB Ram, HP-UX 11.0, Oracle 8.1.6.2
RHEL Server: DL580, 400 GB HDD, 4 GB Ram, RHEL 3.0 U3, Oracle 9.0.2.6

Thanks,
