  | | | numa memory | numa memory 2006-03-29 - By Stephen Mah
Back I've got a user with 4 gigs of memory on a dual Opteron machine. With the standard kernel, it sees 2 gigs and 3 gigs with memory mapping turned off in his bios. With the hugemem kernel running, it sees 4 gigs. Is this expected with the standard smp kernel? He's complaining of extra overhead with this kernel.
The system seems to split the memory between the two processors and I think it's called numa. Is this causing problem recognizing the memory?
