Bernd,

You may want to take this up through official channels.  I've already
asked for something like this and was told RHN is the single source of
truth for non-security errata.  It turns out that packages have been
placed in the rhel-3 (See http://hel-3.ora-code.com)as-i386, etc. channels all along without being
announced to enterprise-watch-list unless they were security-related or
part of an "Update".  Fastrack is following the same methodology.

I've submitted an alternate feature request to the RHN team (via Issue
Tracker and my TAM); allow me to monitor an RHN channel and receive
emails for channel changes even if I have zero machines subscribed to
that channel or I don't have the affected packages installed.

Right now, to get an email from RHN for errata, you have to have a
system subscribed to the channel and you have to have "@ Everything"
installed so RHN thinks your machine is affected (assuming you want to
know about every package released).  If you only have a typical
installation and you subscribe to RHN, you'll not receive emails for
packages you don't have installed.  Also, AFAIK, Fedora Core 5 removed
the "@ Everything" group, so I imagine it won't exist in RHEL 5 either
which means you'd have to install everything manually to get update
notices.  :-(
