Back Hi,
Thanks a lot. I could upgrade RHEL AS 3 Update 3 to Update 6
The following steps were necessary. 1. Downloaded & Installed yum. 2. Installed apache. 3 Copied all the .rpm's, from all the RedHat U6 CD's to one of the folders in the apache docroot. 4 Ran yum-arch 5 Updated the /etc/yum.conf, to provide the URL for U6 packages. 6 Ran yum -y update.
I got the following error at the end though: Kernel Updated/Installed, checking for bootloader Lilo found - adding kernel to lilo and making it the default rpmdb: fatal region error detected; run recovery error: db4 error(-30982) from dbenv->open: DB_RUNRECOVERY: Fatal error, run database recovery error: cannot open Packages index using db3 - (-30982) error: cannot open Packages database in /var/lib/rpm
Thanks
