Back First I installed 1.4.2. Then I found out I can not use. I uninstall 1.4.2. After I uninstall - java -version is still giving me 1.4.2. I uninstall 1.4.2. using rpm -e .... Still can't removed. How will I forced get removed. Thanks in advance.

Removed what via RPM? The application?

If you didn't uninstall jre-1 (See http://jre-1.ora-code.com).4.2, jre-1 (See http://jre-1.ora-code.com).3.1_18 won't install because you already have a later version on the system. What you have to do is uninstall 1.4.2 first, THEN install 1.3.1_18.
